In the beginning of 2011, I moved back to Georgia, to get back to my roots and be closer to my family. I will sure miss Chicago, no getting around that, but its nice to back too.
Had first mini showing, in Acworth at Gallery 4463, also where my new studio space is located at. I have been continuing work on the series using images my grandfather took in WWII from his academy award winning film Kukan.
Here are a few pictures of the new show.

In 2009 things got pretty crazy busy and I ended up being a part of three major shows in about 2 weeks time! So here are a few pictures.
My first SOLO show as a Chicago artist was at the MontgomeryWard Gallery at UIC. It was really fun and I was able to connect with some of the students and meet some faces that had been following my work which was awesome! I ended up selling almost all my pieces from that show a few months after, so looks like I need to start on a new body of work soon!
The week I moved into my new place in Pilsen, I was part of the Annual Pilsen Open Studios Event. AWESOME event! Met so many new people and artist living in the area. Pilsen has the best studio spaces around!
The Architrouve held a show called "Under the Viaduct" honoring all the muralist who helped complete the West Town Mural Competition. It was fun to see what the other artist were working on besides large murals:)

Two of my pieces "Brothers" and "Heroe" were selected for the Columbia College Chicago 2009 publication of the South Loop Review: Creative Nonfiction + Art. I met the editor Renee Hanson at the Image and Word show and was delighted when she asked me to be featured in the upcoming edition.
The South Loop Review is a dynamic publication with a greater emphasis on the non-linear narratives and experimental forms of creative nonfiction. It's paired with images of narrative photography and illustrative essays. You should check it out!
It's on sale now at Columbia Book stores.

I was delighted when I found out my proposal was accepted for one of the six spaces for the murals in West Town. The project is Phase Two of a beautification project for SSA#29 district in Chicago on unifying subject matter: “Scenes of Chicago Avenue.” It is across the street from the first set of murals completed in 2008. It is located at viaduct, 800 N. Lessing St. with average sized space of 10' h x 30'.
Please feel free to stop by and say hello! I will be painting until the end of August.

Just wanted to say a special thank you to all the volunteers and staff who made this event come together. It was truly delightful to be invited as one of the participating artist. I had a blast getting to know some of the students as well as seeing other artist exhibit their talents. It was a great night!
